Ilfracombe is a picturesque seaside town in North Devon. It has been a holiday destination for many years and not least during the Victorian era.
Whether you live locally or are visiting beautiful North Devon, we warmly invite you to attend Ilfracombe Victorian Week from 10th to 18th June 2017.
Many townspeople don Victorian costume for the week, while a full programme of activities is hosted from parades to concerts and shows.
You are welcome to dress as a Victorian - as simply or elaborately as you choose - to participate in our events or to sit back and enjoy the spectacle as the town is transported back to yesteryear.
New for 2017
Moor up your ships and join the Pirates at the harbour on Sunday 18th June. Fancy dress competitions, BBQ and More…
Airship Pirates also welcome
Ilfracombe is famous for the Tunnels Beaches, complete with its tidal Victorian bathing pool.
Bathing Belles and Beaus can be found at Wildersmouth Beach.
Giggles and photo opportunities a-plenty!
Our very own Queen Victorian often graces us with her presence at events during the celebrations.
Learn a little more about her here….
Join the Pearly Kings and Queens for a night of entertainment and a cockney-style sing-along .
A new addition to the fun in Ilfracombe last year was that of the Tea Duelling competition
Our astounding master of ceremonies was the overseer of many a comedy conflict, all resolved over a nice cup of tea!
We even saw Queen Victoria join in
The 2016 Victorian and Steampunk celebration was a wonderful success, despite the (not quite so wonderful) weather.
Many Thanks to all that were a part of the events, both near and far.
We look forward to the 2017 celebration and looking forward to making more memories.
